So far I can save a game and then load it again. PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*/*/*.package There is many other flavors of this file. Make sure your Resource.cfg is correct right mine looks like this.
If you don't have it, how do you run AwesomeMod? Look up that mod for more info. Use Delphy Sims3Pack Multi Installer to extract the packages from the Riverview.Sims3PackĬ:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 World Adventures\Mods\Packages\Riverview\ It must have info on where the world file is located and sims is too stupid to fix the files itself.Įdit: Skip step 3 if you have a dbc file with riverview included.ģ. I am not going to test it because I am a bit too drunk and need to tell you all the solution first before last call.Ĭ:\Users\YOURUSERNAMEHERE\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\ This solution might work with some adjustments to just a straight TS3 without WA.
It is not a pretty one but here it is.įirst I am patched arr'ed style up to current 1.8/2.3 (DVD drive is broke in the lappy. I joined just to tell you all and give something back. I hope you find this info helpful.Ok I have worked on this for 6 hours. All of these things plagued me in the past when I had CC installed through the launcher in the folder I use for CAW. When I use the methods above, I have no more problems with crashing, running out of memory, or failure to export a world. I only use it long enough to add the item I need, and then I save and switch back to regular CAW. I have used this from time to time to add things to a world that aren't normally available, however, Super CAW is very unstable. I won't go into this further, but you can learn more by googling.Īlso, I should mention Super CAW. Again, I'm able to do this because CAW just uses a "placeholder" for the package files. I've purchased a ton of stuff (almost the entire store, lol!) and use all the premium content in most of my worlds. If you plan to Share the world, you can include the CC in a separate download.
When I install my world, it recognizes this CC from the "placeholder" it has put in the world. In the folder I use to play in, I always install this CC through the launcher.
However, doing it this way means the CC won't be "attached" to the world (won't be included). Doing it this way prevents crashing and prevents the world from failing to export. When you do it this way, CAW doesn't have to actually import the CC, but rather sees it like a "placeholder". If I do use third party CC, I convert it to a package file and place it in my Mods folder. When building, I try not to use any third party CC unless it's something I think I just can't live without. I don't build in EIG unless I'm building on a lot with an unusual terrain in the world such as on a cliff. I do have one custom world installed in this Sims 3 Folder, and that is Builder's Island, where I build all my lots before I place them in CAW. I have some NRaas, Build Buy Restriction Choker, Stencil Remover, and things of that sort. The only Mods I have in this folder are the ones essential to building/working in CAW. I don't have any CC installed in this folder (I'll explain how I add CC in a second).
I'm happy to share what I believe are the key things in making a large, mostly filled world work.įirst of all, I have a clean "The Sims 3" folder that I use just for CAW and not for playing.
I've learned a lot about what works and what doesn't through trial and error. As I said, I've used CAW extensively, and have created huge worlds with most of the lots filled (even with CC and Store Items) and no longer have problems with crashing, etc. One thing you need to keep in mind is that CAW doesn't handle CC or Store Items well.
